Dethatching a lawn is necessary for your yard if it has a lot of thatch in it. Thatch can be either a lot of dead grass that is in your lawn, or it can be creeping grasses, or it can be Moss, or pine needles. Thatch is anything in your lawn that inhibits your lawn from looking its best and being healthy. Once you have determined that your lawn does need dethatching, the next step is to determine how you would like to do it. There are essentially three different ways in which you can dethatch a lawn.

The first way you can detach a lawn is with a deep thatching rake. These rates are typically $25-$30 and you can easily buy one online and have it shipped to your home. They are not too difficult to use, but had be a little bit hard on your back if you are not used to doing that sort of manual labor. Also, they can take a little bit longer to use them either of the other two methods. However, if you have a teenager, this is a great way to use them and teach them how to work at the same time.

The next way you can do lawn dethatching is by using a deep thatching blade on your will or. This plate temporarily replace the existing plate on your mower, and you can use it to get batch your lawn. The advantage of this method, is that it is relatively inexpensive. And you can use the same blade multiple times. The disadvantage, is that it does not do a very human job, and you need to be extra careful not to scalp lawn if you are going to use this method. Also you need to remember to mow your grass short. If you have a ton of thatching your lawn, your order may not be strong enough to get it all out.

The third way you can do lawn dethatching lawn is with a dethatcher rental. These rental machines are not very expensive to rent, typically only $35-$45, and they do a pretty good job. If you think you may only have to thatch your lawn once every four or five years, this might be the best approach for you to take. These machines do an excellent job, and they are designed to pull out the thatch and bought the lawn. Dethatching lawn on a regular basis, helps your lawn to brief, to get more nutrients, and to get more sunlight. It also helps prevent lawn diseases and insect problems in your lawn.
